Queen Elizabeth- Y6

This week in topic we have focused on Queen Elizabeth II and her life. We looked at some of the big events that occurred during her reign and how she dealt with them as Queen. We focused on: the 1966 World Cup, 1966 Aberfan disaster, the end of Apartheid in 1991 and the London 2012 Olympic Games. The children did some research on the iPads and had to create a poster about one of the events.

We also did some art based on the Queen. The children had to finish a portrait of the Queen during a certain period of her reign. We are delighted with how amazing they turned out and have put all of our work on display outside the classroom.
