Year Six World Mental Health Day 2023
We have had a lovely day in Year Six celebrating World Mental Health Day. We've spent the day talking and thinking about our emotions and how we can regulate them.
The assembly this morning really started our day off nicely and allowed us all to sit and think about things in the world that we are grateful for.
When we got back to class, we enjoyed a milkshake and biscuit whilst we watched Blue Planet (one of our favourite programmes). This gave us an opportunity to relax and see the amazing creatures we have on Earth.
After that, we got stuck into making our 'exploding books' all about us. The children all made their books perfectly and they then spent the day drawing and writing things all about themselves. We can't wait to show off the final pieces.
Throughout the day we watched the movie, 'Inside Out' and completed some activities which allowed us to really think about the message in the story. We didn't quite finish it but I'm sure we will over the rest of the week.
We finished the day with a mindfulness workshop with Mrs. Crossley in the hall. It was the perfect way to end our day and were hoping to do it more often!
